Frequently asked questions.

If your question is not answered here, ask it in writing in your case portal — there it is linked to your case.

Do I have to pay this?

If you parked contrary to the signposted conditions, there is a claim under private law. Look at the photos in your case first. If you then consider the claim unjustified, submit an objection — that costs nothing.

Do I have to pay if I wasn't the one driving?

The person liable is, in principle, whoever actually parked the vehicle. As the registered vehicle keeper, you can name the driver in the case portal. If that person remains unknown or does not respond, you remain responsible, as the vehicle keeper, for resolving the case.

What makes up the amount?

The amount covers the effort actually incurred: the check on site, the documentation, handling the case and — where necessary — the vehicle keeper enquiry. Every item is listed separately in your case. The Federal Supreme Court recognises an amount of this size, CHF 60, as reasonable.

Does this also apply on a public street?

No. This claim can only arise on private property that the owner or tenant has signposted accordingly. On public ground, road traffic law applies, and fines may only be issued by the police. More on this under Legal basis and sources.

When does an objection stand a chance?

When you can provide proof of a valid ticket, a permit, a change of vehicle keeper or an incorrectly recorded license plate. What decides it is the proof, not the reasoning.

What happens if I don't pay?

If the claim remains unpaid, we send a written reminder listing additional costs. If that also goes unanswered, the claim can be handed to a collection partner or pursued through the courts. We explain the legal basis for the claim under Legal basis and sources.

Why can I not call you?

So that every statement stays traceable, we answer questions about a case in writing in your case portal. That way both sides always have the same information.
